Course: Understanding Poverty, Inequality and Social Disadvantage in Australia

Building on the research and findings of the Poverty and Inequality Partnership with ACOSS, the second instalment of the short course from the Social Policy Research Centre at UNSW Sydney, ‘Understanding Poverty, Inequality, and Social Disadvantage in Australia’, explores the causes and consequences of poverty and inequality in Australia from a unique local policy perspective.

This course offers a distinctive viewpoint by combining perspectives from individuals with lived experience, advocates, and researchers. You will explore the key drivers influencing poverty, inequality, and social disadvantage in Australia, and learn how actionable policies can spark positive social change. For ease of learning the course incorporates self-paced online learning and live lecture sessions.
