RAISE THE RATE SUPPORTERS PLANNING AND STRATEGY TELECONFERENCE

2019 has been a huge year for the Raise the Rate campaign.

The low rate of Newstart and Youth Allowance has consistently been one a major public issue. We have seen public support for raising the rate continue to grow: with more and more business groups, health groups, regional groups, local Councils, and other organisations backing the campaign for the first time, and more media stories of people on Allowances than ever before.

All of this has increased the pressure on both sides of politics, and we have seen Labor call for Newstart to be raised, and several Coalition politicians call for payments to be lifted, including Barnaby Joyce, Russell Broadbent, Dean Smith, Arthur Sinodinos, and NSW Deputy-Premier John Barilaro. Never before has there been this much support for raising the rate.

Here is your chance to join other Raise the Rate supporters from across the country, from your computer or your phone, to reflect on the year that has passed, hear about activities happening across the country, give us feedback on the campaign, and discuss our collective plans for 2020.
