Law & Justice

Low income Australians face a number of barriers in seeking access to justice.

ACOSS advocates for a fair and equitable legal system for low income and disadvantaged Australians. In particular, we advocate to improve access to legal services for low income Australians and to ensure that legal and administrative decision making process are transparent and fair.

ACOSS supports national protection of human rights and recently made a submission to the National Human Rights Committee recommending the enactment of a national human rights act which includes economic and social rights.
