Launch of the 2018 ACOSS/UNSW Poverty in Australia report

ACOSS CEO Dr Cassandra Goldie will be launching the 2018 ACOSS/UNSW Poverty in Australia Report on Tuesday, 16 October 2018 at the Press Club in Canberra.

This is the first Poverty Report that ACOSS and UNSW have jointly published as part of our 5 year Poverty and Inequality Partnership. It builds on the previous reports ACOSS has produced with Professor Peter Saunders and his colleagues at the Social Policy Research Centre.

In this address Dr Goldie will outline the report’s key findings and what we can do to reduce poverty. How do we create a different future, one in which families, neighbours and communities look out for one another, and everyone is included? How do we create a community in which people struggling to make ends meet are not degraded, or demonised but instead comforted that in good times and bad, we can sleep at night knowing that we have the essentials we need?

Date: Tuesday 16 October 2018

Time: 11:30am – 1:30pm

Venue: National Press Club, 16 National Circuit, Barton ACT 2600
