Update of the ACOSS Emergency Relief Handbook
ACOSS has started a project to update the Emergency Relief (ER) Handbook, which was last updated in 2003 (3rd edition). The Handbook provides information on the quality and content of ER services, the needs and rights of clients, and the causes of poverty. It is designed as standard information from which ER agencies can develop their policies, programs and service delivery. The previous edition of the Handbook can be viewed by clicking here.
FaHCSIA is funding the update of the Emergency Relief Handbook, which has enabled ACOSS to organise roundtable consultations in each major city, and in some regional areas, with ER providers. Surveys will also be distributed to both ER providers and ER users.
The updated 4th edition of the ACOSS Emergency Relief Handbook is in the final stages of production and we hope it will be released it in the first half of 2011. Stay tuned for further information about this important resources for emergency relief providers.
