ACOSS seeks a dynamic, driven, highly skilled Senior Policy and Advocacy Officer to join its team.
This is a key leading role helping set the policy direction of the organisation and work collaboratively with ACOSS’ organisational members, networks and affected individuals to design and promote policies that will reduce poverty and inequality in Australia and improve the lives of people experiencing poverty and disadvantage.
You will ideally have a strong policy and practice experience in human service delivery and community development, with expertise in community services, health, and/or education. A sound understanding of social security, employment and economics is desirable.
You will have the ability to skilfully lead ACOSS’ advocacy and policy in core areas to achieve maximum impact, including through: the design and management of policy, advocacy and research projects; rapid response to external developments; representation of ACOSS externally as required; and strong collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
