The Advocacy Support Service supports birth families of children and young people involved with Child and Youth Protection Services (CYPS) by providing information and capability development as they navigate the Out of Home Care and protection systems. Volunteers are required to use the Client Case Management system to record new referrals for families, and follow up with arranging intake appointments for families. Volunteers will also be contacting families and stakeholders for ongoing program assessments.

Key Responsibilities

  • To support the engagement and empowerment of clients as determined in consultation with the service manager
  • To maintain accurate records using the Client Case Management system
  • Maintain regular communication with Red Cross supervisor
  • Attend Red Cross induction, relevant training, and support meetings
  • Respect the rights of clients to confidentiality and privacy
  • Work within the Red Cross Code of Conduct
